Technical Experience

Over 9 years in the industry working as a photographer, self directing camera op and content creator. Former Head of Film and Content Production for award winning creative agency, Thinking Juice.

Photography: I am experienced in shooting with Canon Full Frame, Nikon Full Frame, Fujifilm Mirrorless, Fujifilm Medium Format and Sony Mirrorless, lighting with either natural light or flash.

Video: Experienced shooting Red Digital Cinema, Sony F55/FS7/FS5, Fujifilm Mirrorless, Sony Mirrorless and Canon EOS systems.

Confident operating as a self directing camera op. Working with natural light or lighting with continuous lighting.

I work with a number of other trusted, talented creatives when required to crew up. But equally happy to fit into production teams.

Drone: CAA approved drone pilot.

DOP: I am available on productions as DOP when required.

Post: I have many years experience in the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition) along with Davinci Resolve.

About James M. Williams

My drive is helping brands tell their stories in relatable, compelling ways. The challenge of capturing a product or a service in a authentic fashion, is what drives my passion for photography and content production.

For the last 5 years, I’ve built a photography and content production team within a successful advertising agency. Working with and shooting for brands such as Barbour, Vans, Dr Martens, Williams Jet Tenders, Roberts Radio, and BT.

For the 4 years prior, I enjoyed running my own business, creating content for brands like Philips, Vodafone, Thomson Reuters as well as offering agencies a content production solution without the need of an in-house team.

It is over this 9 year period of producing content for brands of a ranging scale, I have developed a unique understanding of contemporary content creation.

Creating images and video that will resonate with their audiences. Telling compelling brand stories and helping them connect with their audiences through creative content.

I a self represented, fully insured with public liability up to £10 million and available for commissions worldwide.

I carry a UK Passport, Full UK Drivers License. I am also a authorised CAA Drone Pilot and trained in first aid.
